the label is
introducing a new Project/Initiative that collects old materials which may be
anything from curtains, sheets, table cloths, pillow cases, scrap fabrics and
clothes that are no longer wanted or needed by the general public the label
recycles the clothes gives the clothing a new lease on life, This idea was
inspired by the effects of misusing clothing and fabric on our environment , in
our research/studies we have found that 1million tonnes of textile and fabric
are being thrown away every year of which 50% are recyclable as a up and coming
fashion label we want to introduce something that has not been done in Port
Elizabeth, a:
1. Reduces
the amount of pesticides, petroleum and water needed to grow and dye fabrics.
2. Cuts
down pollution, greenhouse gases and volatile organic compounds released into
the water and air from the fabric manufacturing process.
3. Reduces
the need for landfill space/land for growing raw fibres
4. Reduces
pressure on natural resources
5. Helps
to lessen energy consumption and pollution as fibres do not need to be manufactured
and transported.
BENEFITS
OF RECYCLED CLOTHING TO THE CONSUMER:
1. We
give back to the community by donating 30%of the clothes we revamped to a local
charity.
